Live Life like it's spring...
Always find a way to bloom!

Hibiscus
Hibiscus by Jenn Honeycutt
When I see my bulbs start to bud, I know it's time to feed, water, provide plenty of sunlight, & weed the garden bed! That gives them the nutrients & clean space plants require to produce beautiful, healthy new blooms...

The same can be said for us.  Look around the house & ask yourself these questions:
  • Do I drink enough water & how can I include more if not?
  • Am I getting enough nutrients & how can I make sure I'm including enough?
  • How can I do more activities outside to make sure I get enough vitamin D without too much sun exposure? (Studies show that it also help lighten your mood, too!)
  • Is my environment inside the house clean & clear of clutter? (Studies show that visual clutter can have a negative effect on mood!)

DECORATING IN SPRING...

Try something unexpected this Spring by using black & neon colors to brighten your day!  We all think of pastels & creams or whites to accent the design, but black can contrast with pastels or neons.  The light pastels can be seen in high contrast easily.  The neon color pallet is toned down by the darkness of the black accents.

ORgAnizING IN SPRING...

Paper ClutterThe area that never seems to stay organized!
Now that you've been through everything in your closet (or 2), it's time to think about the clutter that keeps piling up even though you just tackled that 2 months ago!  It seems to just happen overnight, but it's a bit here & a bit there that one day adds up!  BAM!!! Then your frustrated that it can't seem to stay clutter free.

Reflections are often a great tool use in critiquing an area.  Critiquing should never be a negative tool.  It's just a way to discuss different aspects of something & can be discussed in a positive attitude.  Don't dwell on what didn't work; instead, recognize that it didn't work & develop a better plan to implement.

Again ask yourself a few questions:
  • What items seem to be what is creating the clutter?  Paper/mail, toys, clothes/shoes, bookbags, etc.
  • Why do they end up there? Laziness; doesn't have a home elsewhere; or that it is the best place for that category of items.
  • What can I do to limit the clutter in the future?  Train yourself by being conscious of putting the items elsewhere; find a better home for the items; or just get a system of containers to create an organized home in the space it clutters!

ArTING IN SPRING...

Tie-Dye is a favorite spring project for me.  I've not had a kiddo tell me they didn't enjoy tie-dying!  In fact, I've had kids beg me to do this project so they could learn different patterns.

Wear gloves to protect your hands from being dyed!  Do the process outside to avoid making a permanent mess inside!

If winter has the courage to turn into Spring, I can have the courage to bloom!

Art is an awesome thing when you have the right pieces.  Aesthetic art is just to look at, but applied art is functional & good looking!
