Spring is insPiRING...Since the weather has been sooo crazy, the flowers & trees have been blooming like crazy. I love the bright colors of Spring! They remind me of whimsical watercolors flowing through the landscape, swirling down in between the trees & trickling down the brook in the middle of my field on a windy day! Decorating in SPRING...oRganizING In SPRING...Decluttering!!! Spring cleaning is often a daunting task for most of us. So instead of trying to tackle every room in the house, try 1 room a week or every 2 weeks until the job is done. The office is always a starting point because it helps the whole family get prioritized & more efficient. Another good reason to start here first is that it's small & manageable to help you get energized about getting organized without overwhelming you. Before you start always have a trash bag/can handy, as well as several boxes for sorting. Start with paperwork: sort the paper into piles. *Bills *Kids *Trash *Important *Go Through *Miscellaneous Decide what type of filing system will work best for you & your lifestyle, whether it's a hard copy like a filing cabinet or electronically scanned & stored online. Use the boxes to sort other items into categories such as: *Keep *Containers *Sale *Other Rooms *Donate *Other Family Members After all items are sorted, then distribute them to their correct places. This process will save you lots of time, energy, & effort in the long run (which is the whole goal ;) Once all the items have been put in their places, you can begin the organizing process. Think about the way you would like for the office to function. What type of activities/tasks will you need to do in the office? How will you utilize the office or what is the purpose of the office? Function-Efficiently & easily. Tasks-Paying bills, creating, conferencing, etc. Purpose-Home office, small business, craft room, studying, etc. Answering these questions first will help you develop a space plan, an efficient process, & a game plan to make sure you achieve the end goal of changing your stressful life into a more relaxing lifestyle! Add some art on the walls or color coordinated containers & you're done. Art & organization can come together! art In SPRING...Building functional art is a great project that can be added to the garden or home fairly easily & on the cheap! I love to see all of the colorful blooms that dot the side of the road or in my front yard, young animals moving about nozzling their mamas, & busy bees or birds carrying on like they do from flower to flower. This is why I love the design & create yard art! We're making bird feeders, yard art, & garden beds for all of our art this spring. I create gardenscapes out of planters or beds, instead of just making rows in the middle or back yard. SPRING haS SPRuNG IN The kitchen...I love Corned Beef & Cabbage. It's the best combination of meat & veggies ever...the best is...potatoes for the side! No matter how you cook potatoes, they're delicious. I put the corned beef & potatoes in the crockpot for a couple of hours without the rest of the veggies. I take out the potatoes & put them in the oven when I add my veggies to the crockpot like carrots or daikons, onions, mushrooms, & cabbage. This later edition is to make sure I don't end up with veggie mush. I roast the potatoes in the oven on 400 degrees for 45-50 minutes while the other veggies party in the pot with the beef!

Art is an awesome thing when you have the right pieces. Aesthetic art is just to look at, but applied art is functional & good looking!
