SUMMER, SHINE BRIGHT!DECORATING FOR SUMMER...Let's talk BIG impact with a little money! Who doesn't love that? Wall murals are a perfect example of how easy it is to accomplish this in a way that nothing else can... It can be painted, vinyl, or wall paper. Murals will add color, implied texture, & interest rather quickly to any space. It creates an atmosphere in the space like no other & they're not just for walls either! It can highlight a wall to become that fabulous feature or a tall ceiling to bring enjoyment to an otherwise boring place. Now that we are all working & schooling online, murals are a perfect solution to that boring wall behind you without distracting (like the clutter usually seen)... ORGANIZING FOR SUMMER...Organize your bedroom for a restful sleep by clearing the clutter that causes chaos. Start with the closet & drawers. Have a place to put all of the clean & dirty clothes that quickly overwhelm a room, especially for children. Once you separate & determine the items that need to be organized, think about the function of the space. Sometimes, the lack of function is a lack of storage & other times, the system doesn't function for your lifestyle. Every 5-10 years, you should re-evaluate the function of your organization in each room because our lifestyles change every few years...life changes & big life events have a varied effect on how we function. Built-in furniture maintains organization efficiently as a result of taking up less space within the room. Closet organizers don't always have to be built-ins. There is an array of cloth organizers that hang in the closet & pair perfectly with baskets. Built-in closet organizers can optimize the efficiency in your closet. They allow the most possibilities for all your organizing needs. Don't have a dresser, try adding drawers to the built-in. Need more shelves for shoes or folded clothes...add a tilted shelf for shoes & more shelves that can be adjusted. ART FOR SUMMER...Have some random glass hanging out...or need to organize loose items? Try painting the glass to match your decor or create a personally designed piece as a gift. Prep the glass by making sure that all of the labels & glue are removed. Clean the glass with alcohol to help remove any trace of oils or glue. Gather all of your supplies including paint, brushes, paper towels, water cup, etc. Glass paint is best for durability, but acrylic craft paint will work as well. Your may have to seal it with a clear coat of acrylic to prevent flaking.
