SUMMER'S Sweet retreatThis is our 1st official month of living in Maryland! Life has been crazy busy since spring, so I took a break from writing this blog until now. I'm so excited to explore & adventure in this great state & all of the surrounding places! Don't miss the back to school series with tips & tricks for a smooth transition starting @ the bottom of this month's blog! Get back to school feeling ready to take on the 1st day & ease through the crazy 1st week of school... But wait.....................................Let's finish relaxing out the summer with art, design, & organization before heading back to school... DECORATING FOR SUMMER Relaxing...Add a hammock to the porch or a cozy spot in the yard! Mix & match pillows with a throw blanket that contrast in color to create a relaxing summer space. I like to have a table close so there's a spot to put my drink, book, or laptop while relaxing. ORGANIZING FOR SUMMER relaxing...Take a look through all of the swim items that have been collected throughout the past years. If it doesn't work or can't be fixed, pitch it! All of the keepers can be stored in a deck bench, plastic tote, or a plastic cart with drawers for safe keeping. Label the totes or drawers, store, & done! relaxing SUMMER ART...Family get together's are often hectic, but you can entertain them by creating art with chalk on the sidewalk or patio. Easy clean up with the water hose for kids & concrete! Always be aware that asphalt gets hot even in the morning & evening. Special Back to school organization Series...Make going back to school less stressful this year with a few tweaks to your summer routine...I will be adding a few tips & tricks to my blog for the next few months to help you & your family transition smoothly. I loved being a teacher, getting my classrooms ready (yes, I had 2) for the new school year, as well as getting my own kiddos back to their school routines. It was overwhelming @ times; however, learning what works for my family helps determine how we transition. Now that I'm focusing my passions on my design & organization company in a new state, our routines have changed quite a bit!

Art is an awesome thing when you have the right pieces. Aesthetic art is just to look at, but applied art is functional & good looking!
