...Fall in love with AUTUMN IN ArkaNsas...![]() I just can't say enough about Autumn in Arkansas. We are the Natural State for a reason...the various hues change in waves rippling across the ridges within the state; the cooler breeze that whirls around you making your hair blow in your face; the sound of acorns falling as the light drizzle makes them too heavy to hang on any longer, & my favorite of all...the curl up-comfy, cozy, snuggling feeling in the air that changes everything! I'm in love with Autumn! Persimmons are a sweet, orange treat that supposedly can predict the coming winter weather...open them up to reveal a fork, spoon, or knife! Of course I mean the seeds... A fork indicates a light snow with mild temperatures. A spoon indicates lots of powdery snow with moderate temperatures. A knife indicates a cold, icy winter that will cut you like a knife. ...Decorating for FALL WITH AUTUMN inspiration...Fall is when orange shines most of all! Orange is not my favorite color, so this is a great time for me to embrace it & even feel inspired by it. I'm in love with copper, & metal of any kind really...that's why I incorporate a variety of metals in my designs. Metal gives a different texture to the layers of design that go into a unified space for interest & variety. Intertwining soft organic materials like pumpkins, burlap, wood, & leaves with hard, shiny metal items create an interesting contrast needed to accomplish an awesome design. ...FALL INto organizing IN aUTUMN...In autumn we are busier, than in the winter, generally because of sports & extra curricular activities. So coming up with the will & want to (never mind the time) is sometimes just hard to do for organizing the household! Hiring a professional is a great option that can bring you a less stressful, more enjoyable lifestyle during what can be a hectic time of year. Professionals can help you make decisions more quickly & are knowledgeable in organizing processes, techniques, & problem-solving skills to provide the motivation needed to complete projects quickly! Holidays are just around the corner... If you can motivate yourself into finishing organization projects this fall, here are some tips to help minimize feeling overwhelmed: Start in a small space. No matter how unorganized the space is, you should be able to finish a small space in 1 day (whether it's a few hours or all day depends on the level of organization already established). I like to go through the hall closet or linen closet for instance. They are usually small relative to other spaces containing over flow items. Try taking everything out of the closet to gain a better sense of what all you have stored in there. Next, sort items into categories & discard all trash. If you have items that need to be stored in other places, 1st make a pile of all items, & then take them to there new home to be stored. When you decide on which items to store in the closet, you may find that purchasing new containers are necessary to contain some items more efficiently. Knowing which items & how many items need to be contained before shopping will help you choose the right containers, saving you time, energy, & money! Finally, put everything back on the shelves. Movin' on to the next episode... ...CReATING colorful art FOR autumn...All art doesn't have to be created from scratch; in fact, I love to recycle or up-cycle items to create different pieces of art that suite my needs more than what I had previously!
...CookING COmfort food FOR FALL...Pot Pie Everything... Pot pie's an easy way to reuse leftovers, no matter what they are: roasted chicken, turkey, pork chops, or mashed potatoes & other veggies. Reuse mash potatoes as the top crust like a Shepherd's pie too! You can determine which size pies to make, depending on the amount of food that is left over: individual pies or a whole pie.

Art is an awesome thing when you have the right pieces. Aesthetic art is just to look at, but applied art is functional & good looking!
