If you are a well organized person, then you probably don't need to pull all of your items out because you can clearly see all of your belongings. That's the toughest battle; to get organized & stay organized, I'm so excited for you! You're ready to move on to making sure every item completes an outfit.
If you are moderately organized, then maybe parts of your closet need to be completely emptied. Also, if you intend to add extra storage to the closet, it's helpful to empty the space to accommodate the process efficiently.
If your a hot mess & haven't seen your closet in months because it's just too overwhelming, then it's time to get some help to accomplish your goals of organizing the closets! Hire a professional or get some helpful family, friends, or neighbors. Empty out the entire space & start fresh with a plan of attack! You go get em!
This is the point @ which you must decide to keep each item & purchase coordinating items to complete an outfit, or discard the item (being trash or donate). Once this step is complete, you should have a trash pile, donate pile, &/or give away (hand-me-down) pile. You'll probably have a list of purchases to complete those outfits, as well. Having a list can help save you money by giving you items to focus on with new intent.
For example, that little black dress you absolutely love & could never part with has seen it's last days. Your body has probably changed since you purchased that dress anyways. This gives you the opportunity to ask what you want most from the new dress.
Ask a few questions:
After you know what you have & the amount of space available, you can determine the storage needs that best accommodate the items & space. This could include a few storage pieces or an entirely new system. There is a solution for every budget, so don't limit your creativity. Get inspired...pinterest!
Putting all of your items back into the space gives you a sense of pride & ownership that will hopefully motivate you to be like NIKE...just do it! Every time you put something down; ask yourself, is this where it belongs? Just do it! Little time now or a lot of time later? Just do it!

Ask a few questions:
- What type of fabric best meets your needs?
- What style & fit best meets your needs?
- Do you want to dry clean or not; type & effort of care?
- How much am I willing to pay for the new item?
